Splish Splash, We’re Having a Bash! Aug. 13

Sign up by 5pm Aug 6

The second golf event sponsored by Women’s Golf @ Charbonneau takes place Thursday, August 13th.  The nine-hole game is open to all women with no league affiliation required.

There’s a hint here that there will be a few fun water challenges.  Hopefully we won’t need our swimsuits!

Following the Scramble format game there will be a light meal–BYOB.  The cost is $10 payable by check to CWGA.  Please label your check “GNO”–that stands for Girls’ Night Out and deposit your check in the CWGA slot.  Sign-up sheets will be available on the counter. Players will be responsible for their own greens fee in the Pro Shop prior to play.

Check in on Thursday, August 13th at 4pm for a fun shotgun start at 4:30pm.  Bring some water balls!

Aloha! It’s a Hawaiian Luau for August 4 Scramble

Be sure to sign up by 5pm July 28th!

Think Hawaii, think blue skies and even bluer water, think luau and delicious food–and of course, don’t forget great golf and meeting new Niners.  Our scramble allows us to meet more of our fellow Niners since it scrambles all of us into new and different teams to push the ball down the course.  And better yet, we get to share our talents with our team and usually end up with a better score than our regular play days (that is according to one person I know).

Be at the Pro Shop at 8:15 to check in, pay your greens fee and meet the rest of your foursome.  Allow time to walk to your appointed hole so you can tee off at 9am–the shotgun start.

Dalton’s will cater our lunch following golf with a Tropical Buffet of  Teriyaki chicken, Caesar salad, a fruit display, Hawaiian sweet breads and ice cream.  Aloha!  The lunch is $18/person and it sounds like a great menu.

So sign up by July 28th at 5pm, slide your check for $18 in the slot and look forward to a fun day on the course with the Niners.

Remember to bring some spare dollars for the “Split the Pot” raffle.

Thanks to Lindy Anderson and Rosemary Ricken for the lunch plans and Janet Moore for our Scramble format.

See you there!  Fore!

Ready, Set, Swing into the Niners’ Tournament August 11, 18, 25

Sign up by 5pm on August 5th.

In order to compete for prizes in the tournament you need to have participated in five Niners’ events this season and have an established handicap–that’s all.  Plan ahead to make sure you will qualify for prizes in the three-day tournament.  A list of qualifying members will be posted on our bulletin board.

Winners will be determined from the best two out of the three play days on August 11, 18 and 25.  You may play only 2 days or all 3 days–your best two scores will count as your tournament scores.

We will play regular golf and the Pro Shop will set the tee times which will be posted prior to play day.  Any Niners not signed up for the tournament should sign up with the Pro Shop for a tee time which will be assigned later than the tournament players.

Tournament players will pay a $5 tournament fee on their first day, then it’s off to the course.

There will be many winners!  Awards will be presented at our fun Annual Banquet on October 6th.  The Low Gross winner for the tournament will be our 2015 Club Champion.  There will be winners in all three flights for Low Gross, Low Net and Low Putts. Maybe your name will be on one of the prizes!  You won’t know unless you play in the games.  Think of it as three more regular games of golf and have a great time.

Sign up sheets will be available on July 15th along with the list of current qualifying members, so sign up by 5pm on August 5th and go for it!

Kathy Gibbons is our Chair for this event and will be happy to answer any questions you have regarding the tourney.  Thanks Kathy!

Watch Your Calendar!

Couples and Calendar Girl are Coming

We Niners find lots of golf and loads of fun by watching the calendar.  There’s always something coming up we can enjoy.

The annual Couples/Partner Golf evening is coming up on July 21st.  It begins at 3pm with the festivities and concludes with a dinner at the Oregon Wine Garden dining room.  Reminder:  Sign up and payment for the PAR Tee “On the Green” is 5pm on Tuesday July 14th–that’s 5 days from today!

Looking forward, our Annual Awards Banquet on October 6th is something very special to mark on your calendar.  Appropriately, the theme this year is “Calendar Girl”.  We are all calendar girls when it comes to watching for the next golf day and the next special event.  The Annual Banquet is always guaranteed to be a high point of our year.  With a musical show, a delicious dinner in the clubhouse, and the presentation of awards–it’s an event not to be missed.  So, calendar girls, mark your calendar for the evening of October 6th!  (of course, your regular game of golf is the morning of that day) Watch for the sign-up sheets in September.
