October 6th Banquet — Changes You Need to Know!

Our 2015 Annual Awards Banquet will begin a little earlier than previously announced.  Also, the deadline to sign up and pay your $15 for the banquet is now September 29th at 5:00pm (the Tuesday before the banquet).

Here is a very brief preview of the evening events:

4:30  The Doors Open for Wine & Social

5:00  Business Meeting and Awards

6:00  Let the Show Begin–“Calendar Girl”!

7:00  The Dinner Banquet is Served

We are looking forward to celebrate the Niners’ year of 2015 at our Annual Awards Banquet.  In addition we will and lift our glasses to the Pink Ball committee members headed by Penny Kirk, our members, fellow golf clubs, friends and neighbors who together succeeded in raising over $47,000 to benefit the OHSU Foundation for the Knight Cancer Institute. It will be a fun evening to spend with our golf buddies.

Be sure to sign up by 5pm, September 29 to make sure you enjoy this memorable evening of Niners’ fun. See you there!

“Calendar Girl” Awards Banquet–October 6th!

Mark your calendar. It will be a night to remember.  Deadline October 1st 5:00pm.

The pre-dinner show theme is “Calendar Girl”. Come find out what a typical Niner writes in her journal during the year.  Maybe some of the entries were taken from your book.  The Charbonneau Country Club doors open at 5:30pm and the show begins at 6:00pm.

Following the “Calendar Girl” show, Dalton’s catering will serve our banquet including caesar salad, chicken marsala, baby red potatoes, vegetables, rolls, coffee and complimentary wine. Topping it off will be yummy apple pie.

A brief meeting kicks off our awards presentation. Prizes will be presented to winners of the Annual Tournament of Champions as well as the Eclectic Tournament.  The “Most Improved Player” for 2015 will also be announced.

Our price for this evening of entertainment, food, fun and excitement is just $15.00 per person thanks to a nice contribution from the end-of-year Niner treasury. This doesn’t happen every year–kind of like your tax refund.  So we will enjoy it this year!

Note:  The deadline to sign up is October 1st at 5:00pm.  Just put your check for $15 in the Niners’ mail slot and then look forward to a wonderful party on October 6th.  What to wear?  You don’t need to dress like a calendar or a pencil.  Just come dressed to have a great time. Thanks to Joyce Bowden for chairing our Annual Awards Banquet this year. See you there!

Monday, September 21

Are you a Dog or a Goose?  Find out by signing up for the Dogs vs Geese game to raise funds for the Charbonneau Golf Club’s geese abatement program. This is a community event including all three Charbonneau golf clubs.

Two people will play as a team against another team of two people to score the Best Ball on each hole.  Now you need to know that one twosome will be “Geese” and the other twosome will be “Dogs”–get it?  The Pro Shop will make up the teams for this Match Play 2-team event.

The entry fee paid when you sign-up is $30 ($20 to the fund) and includes a light lunch at the Garden Terrace following the game.

So bark or honk your way into the Pro Shop soon to sign up.  The sign-up sheet is in the Member’s Lounge–one sheet for all participants.  Cut-off date is loose, just like the Geese!
