Our goal is to stop cancer in its tracks! Deadline to sign-up is 5pm September 6th.
The sign-up book is ready for you to enter our nine-hole scramble game on September 13th. This isn’t just any scramble game. It includes anyone at Charbonneau, our friends, neighbors and men and women outside of Charbonneau too who will join together with the goal to defeat cancer. All prize money is contributed to the cause. Following the game there will be a lunch, a silent auction and an oral auction. All auction proceeds will go towards defeating cancer. Corporate sponsors as well as individual sponsors help in the journey too.
Funds raised from this year’s Pink Ball will be used to help meet the Oregon Health and Sciences University (OHSU) Cancer Center’s mission to end cancer. Phil and Penny Knight issued a $1 billion, two-year challenge on September 20, 2013. That challenge has been met and now we want to continue our support of the work at the Cancer Center.
One way to participate is to become a Tee Sign Sponsor by contributing $50 or more. You may honor a cancer survivor or a friend or relative you have lost to the disease. Just click here for a copy of the form you can print–the instructions are included. Forms are also available in the Club Room of the Charbonneau Pro Shop. The deadline to order a tee sign is 5pm September 6th.
Any donations are appreciated for the goal to support the fight against cancer. Checks should be made out to OHSU Foundation for the Knight Cancer Institute and slid into the mail slot under the Niners’s counter in the Club Room at the Charbonneau Pro Shop. Look for the big pink arrow. Last year the event raised $47,000! Let’s keep it up. You can make a difference.
Now for the Pink Ball game day!
The Game: Scramble Format, 9 holes–Arrive 8:15am, Tee Off 9:00am. Mulligans, etc. will be available prior to play
Lunch and Green Fees: The Golf Fee is $15/person written to “Charbonneau Golf Club”. The Lunch fee is $20/person made out to the “Niners”. Please make payments with two separate checks. In the notes mark them clearly as Pink Ball, and name(s) covered by the payment. Payments for Lunch and Golf are non-refundable after the September 6th 5:00pm deadline. Since there will be a beer and wine bar available to purchase drinks, this is not a byob event. If a player has a Charbonneau Annual Pass, please write “AP” in the sign-up book for that player. Anyone can sign up for lunch only and attend the auction even though they are unable to play in the golf game.
The Program: After golf, we will meet for lunch in the Country Club Dining Room. There will be lots of fun served plus an opportunity to get in on the auction action for a good cause. You can bid on lots of silent auction items as well as an exciting oral auction.
Sign up: The Pink Ball sign-up book is on the Niners’ counter in the Club Room right now, so sign up soon. You can sign up as a single, with a friend as a twosome, or enter as a foursome. Be sure to use a bracket to include twosome or foursome requests. In the sign-up book write “AP” next to names of players with a Charbonneau Annual Pass.
You will be amazed by the sea of tee sponsor signs on display at the golf course on September 13th. Added to that, participants are encouraged to wear pink in a very visual support for the cause to end cancer. Let’s color the course pink!
